Booming Accounting Job Market Attracts High School Students To 91ֿ Case Competition

Area high school students learned about the benefits of a career in accounting while participating in the 91ֿ High School Accounting Case Challenge.

Hosted by the 91ֿ Department of Accounting, the event brought together 85 students from Kent Theodore Roosevelt High School, North Canton Hoover High School, Aurora High School and Tallmadge High School. The competition was sponsored by The Ohio Society of CPAs, Pease Bell CPAs, Robert Fay, Ernst & Young, Novogradac and RSM.

From Corporate to Nonprofit: How a Public Relations Alumnus Has Impacted Greater Cleveland and 91ֿ

91ֿ alumnus Richard Batyko, M.A., ’12, has committed his life and career to making the world, specifically Greater Cleveland, a better place. This year, he and the YMCA of Greater Cleveland (for which he serves as Chief Marketing Officer) are working with 91ֿ advertising and public relations seniors in the capstone class, Campaigns in Advertising and Public Relations, to raise awareness about the organization's mission.

Kent graduate Jason Werstler wins national teaching prize

91ֿ Graduate Wins National Teaching Prize

Jason Werstler, a 2001 91ֿ graduate who majored in education, is one of 25 teachers across the nation who were recently recognized for teaching excellence. He teaches construction at Massillon Washington High School in Massillon, Ohio.

Student Media Experience Leads to Dream Job for 91ֿ Journalism Graduate

While completing a two-month journalism fellowship in Arizona the summer after her college graduation, Anna Huntsman, ’19, found herself nostalgic for Ohio.

“I was around a lot of people from all across the country,” she remembers. “They would ask me, ‘What’s so special about Ohio?’ and I would have this answer about the camaraderie, the sports, the work ethic. I just found myself having these answers of really missing my home.”
