Our mission is to ensure that those in need have access to nourishing meals, essential food supplies, and holistic support services that promote a safe and healthy environment. 

CARES Center

CARES Center 

CARES Center hosts the Flashes Food Pantry from 9 am-3 pm on Fridays. Students can visit the Flashes Food Pantry once per month by appointment (no walk-ins). 

Eligibility: 

  • Must bring a photo ID (license, Flashcard, passport, etc.). 
  • Students must be registered in at least one course.

Flashes Fighting Hunger hosts weekly food pantries on campus at Tri-Towers Rotunda 1475 Leebrick Dr. 

Eligibility: 

  • Must provide name, date of birth, address and phone number (if applicable) at the time of your first visit. 
  • Must be a 91²Ö¿â student or a member of the surrounding community.

Flashcard Downtown Dollar Locations

Flashcard Downtown Dollar Locations

Flashcard Downtown Dollar Locations are locations in downtown Kent that accept Downtown dollars. Downtown Dining Dollars are automatically loaded onto your FLASHcard with the purchase of an applicable meal plan. These funds can be used at participating restaurants around the city of Kent or on the Grubhub app! Downtown Dining Dollars expire at the end of each semester. Any remaining balance is non-refundable.

Eligibility: 

  • Must have purchased a meal plan
  • Downtown Dollar amounts can differ between meal plans (e.g., Gold vs Blue meal plan).

Kent Social Services

Kent Social Services

Kent Social Services provides hot meals 5 days a week, dinner on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month. They also provide groceries from a food pantry for Kent residents. Grocery hours are  Monday-Friday: 9:30am- 2:30pm. 

Eligibility: 

  • No requirements for hot meals. 

Requirements for groceries:

  • While emergency assistance is available, appointments are recommended call or email to schedule.
  • A photo ID is needed at each appointment.
  • Proof of residency in Kent is required once a year.

Kent United Church of Christ

Kent United Church of Christ

Kent United Church of Christ serves hot meals on Sundays at 5 p.m. There are no eligibility requirements; anyone can attend. Please take advantage of the available food assistance.

Center of Hope

Center of Hope offers hot meals six days a week. Offers a food pantry for income eligible individuals and assistance signing up for SNAP benefits. Hot meal hours are Monday-Friday 11:30am- 12:30pm. As well as every 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Sunday (Curbside Only): 2:00pm–2:30pm. Pantry hours are Monday-Thursday 9:30am-2:30pm and the last Tuesday of the month from 5pm-7pm. 

Eligibility: 

  • Offers hot meals six days a week
  • Offers a food pantry for income eligible individuals
  • Offers assistance signing up for SNAP benefits

Riverwood Chapel offers a food pantry on Fridays from 11am-2pm. Guests can visit every 30 days/once a month.
