Ashley White-Stumpf's Sacrifice Featured in National Museum of the U.S. Army
91ֿ alumna 1st Lt. Ashley White-Stump is featured along with other American heroes in the new National Museum of the United States Army, which just recently opened in Virginia.

Upholding Martin Luther King Jr.’s Legacy for Change: Call for MLK Programming
In preparation for honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, 91ֿ’s Martin Luther King Jr. Planning Committee is requesting that university divisions, departments and student organizations submit programming, activities and events (scheduled Jan. 25-Jan. 31, 2021) to the MLK Events Calendar by Friday, Dec. 4, 2020.

91ֿ Recognized Again for Sustainability Efforts
Through multiple organizations and collaborations on and off campus, 91ֿ ended 2019 as a more sustainable campus. Those who contributed to sustainable efforts worked hard to reduce the university’s carbon footprint leading to the university being honored as a finalist for the 2020 Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) Campus Sustainability Achievement Award along with the 2019 Keep Ohio Beautiful award for Colleges and Universities.

As part of 91ֿ’s ongoing strategy to help stop the spread of COVID-19, 91ֿ has partnered with the city of Kent to bring the Ohio Department of Health’s Pandemic Testing Team to campus from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15 for an open testing event

Campus Pride has released its 2020 Best of the Best LGBTQ-Friendly Colleges and Universities list, and for the first time in school history, 91ֿ has landed on the distinctive list as one of 40 institutions recognized over six U.S. regions.

The Association of Public and Land-grant Universities has selected 91ֿ as one of four finalists for the association’s 2020 Degree Completion Award. The annual award works to identify, recognize and reward institutions that employ innovative approaches to improve degree completion while ensuring educational quality.

The coming election is an important one, and voters – particularly first-time voters – are navigating a challenging landscape of information, misinformation, PACs, bots, memes, toxic debates and inflamed rhetoric. “Don’t Hate – Debate (And Vote)!” is an all-day teach-in event that will touch on many aspects of the elections, politics, political/social polarization and civil discourse.
