91²Ö¿â Psychology Professor to Receive 2022 ATHENA Akron Leadership Award
ATHENA Akron, a women’s leadership organization in Summit County, Ohio, has named Angela Neal-Barnett, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences within the College of Arts and Sciences at 91²Ö¿â, its winner of the 2022 ATHENA Akron Leadership Award. She will receive the award on Nov. 17 at the Hilton Akron/Fairlawn.
Mental Health and Recovery Board of Portage County and 91²Ö¿â’s College of Public Health Receive Federal Grant to Improve and Support Mental Health in Portage County Schools and Community
Through a five-year, $625,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the Mental Health and Recovery Board of Portage County will partner with 91²Ö¿â’s Center for Public Policy and Health in the College of Public Health to improve and support mental health in Portage County.
Two 91²Ö¿â Psychology Faculty Selected for Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Leadership Program
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has selected two 91²Ö¿â College of Arts and Sciences faculty members, along with two community clinicians, for , an initiative that will provide funding and leadership training to the four team members. Their plan is to implement a project that will help veterinary professionals in Northeast Ohio address mental health stigmas they experience in their lives and provide usable techniques that can be incorporated into their veterinary practices.
