Three-Minute Thesis Presentations and Awards 2026
Tuesday, October 13 and Wednesday, October 14, 2024 - Presentations. Friday, October 16 - Reception and Awards.
The Three-Minute Thesis event is a competitive event that requires students who participated in the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program to present their research in a three-minute time frame. Students will present their work on October 13 and 14th from noon to 4:00pm in the Kent Student Center. Faculty and staff will serve as judges for the competition. Students, mentors, friends, and family are invited to attend the awards ceremony and reception on Friday, October 16th from 3:00pm to 5:00pm in the KIVA.

The Ohio Academy of Science and 91²Ö¿â's Regional Science Day 2027

Each year, the Academy and 91²Ö¿â brings together fifth - twelfth graders from northeast Ohio to showcase scientific research completed by highly motivated students who have an interest in STEM.

Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) 2026 Program
May 31-July 23, 2026
The SURE program is an eight-week summer program which allows undergraduate students to participate in faculty-supervised research. The SURE program offers stipends for both full-time (40 hours/week) and part-time (20 hours/week) participants, as well as on-campus housing if it is needed. Help is available for finding a faculty mentor if students do not have one already. This program enables students to develop skills in critical thinking, research, communication, problem-solving, and more. This year 189 91²Ö¿â students will participate.
