Mullins School of Practical Nursing recently signed an articulation pathway agreement that provides opportunities for graduates of the Salem nursing school to transition into the East Liverpool Campus’s nursing program.   Seventy-years after Allied forces liberated the people of Paimpol, France, during World War II, Richard Berrong, Ph.D, professor of French in the Department of Modern and Classical Language Studies at 91ֿ, decided to document part of the story that he felt has not been told. The National Weather Service in Cleveland issued a high wind warning on Feb. 24, warning drivers to be cautious on the roads. Jacob Thompson, a 91ֿ sophomore aeronautics and engineering major, nonetheless braved the harsh winds during his regular commute back to the Kent Campus from his Coast Guard drill training in Port Clinton, Ohio. Tanzina Vega, the host of National Public Radio's "The Takeaway" and Eisner Fellow at the Nation Institute, was honored with the Robert G. McGruder Distinguished Guest Lecture Award. 91ֿ student Emelia Sherin directs a play that places the opioid crisis on the forefront.

91ֿ public relations major Emelia Sherin made national headlines in 2017-2018 when she debuted her original play, (In)Dependent, which highlights the tragedies of the heroin epidemic in Northeast Ohio. The play will be performed on 91ֿ’s campus for one night only, March 21 at 7 p.m., in the Kiva Auditorium. Admission is free. Donations raised from the event with go to Oriana House Inc. The performance is sponsored by Luna Negra and the School of Journalism and Mass Communication (JMC), and will be performed by the Youngstown Playhouse cast and directed by Sarah Jane Demetruk. ...
