Dante Cephas Breaks Away for 80-Yard Touchdown in Famous Idaho Potato Bowl

A strong defense and timely offense helped 91²Ö¿â take an early lead, but Wyoming's rushing attack was too much as the Cowboys pulled away 52-38 in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl played Dec. 21 in Boise. For 91²Ö¿â (7-7), this was the team's second bowl appearance in three seasons, having earned the university's first-ever bowl win in 2019 at the Tropical Smoothie Cafe Frisco Bowl played in Frisco, Texas. 91²Ö¿â's first touchdown came on the team's second drive of the first quarter when Quarterback Dustin Crum found Wide Receiver Dante Cephas for a Potato Bowl r...

The safety of our community is our highest priority. Graduating Seniors Are Honored During Special Ceremony in Boise, Idaho

They had planned to wear caps and gowns with their peers and to hear their names called during commencement at the MAC Center.  However, the 91²Ö¿â Golden Flashes' acceptance of a bowl bid out of state quickly derailed that plan. While they couldn't be in two places at once, especially considering Boise, Idaho, is more than 2,000 miles from Kent, these graduates still got their moment to shine. In all, 11 students -- six football players and five student workers -- were honored with a special ceremony Dec. 19 to receive their diplomas from Provost Melody Tankersl...

Senior Isaac Vance (center) is congratulated after receiving Humanitarian Award

At 5'9", Isaac Vance doesn't immediately stand out next to his 91²Ö¿â football teammates, but his big heart and care for others clearly make him one of the tallest on the team. Vance, a senior wide receiver, was surprised Dec. 17 as the Humanitarian Award winner ahead of the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. The award is given annually to a player from each team for exemplary community service and leadership efforts. With an infectious smile and overwhelming positivity, it's easy to see why Vance stands out as a person who cares deeply about helping others. A two-time Academic All-MAC reci...

91²Ö¿â Players and Coaches Pack Meals in Boise, Idaho

The first showdown of 91²Ö¿â's offensive and defensive units ahead of Tuesday's bowl game came not in pads and helmets but in hairnets and aprons. The two sides did battle in a competition to feed the needy by working together to package as many meals as they could in a one-hour period. Players and coaches spread out in the gymnasium of Bishop Kelly High School and worked as fast as they could to package rice and other ingredients to make jambalaya.   With blaring rock music creating an upbeat, competitive atmosphere that included a bell ringing each time a new box was fil...
