KENT, Ohio – The School of Art Collection and Galleries at 91ֿ is pleased to announce a new exhibition, the Kent Blossom Art Intensives Exhibition. Featuring the work of visiting artists and resident faculty working in ceramics, glass, painting, and textiles. The latest exhibit in the DI HUB might make you a bit emotional. The Stories Connecting Generations exhibit features 23 projects from the namesake class that pairs sociology and visual communication design students with an older adult partner, usually a resident of an area senior center, who they build a relationship with throughout the semester. South Korean Professor Yeonmin Kim, Ph.D., '13, spent the 2022-23 academic year at 91ֿ as a visiting scholar.

A literature professor from Chonnam National University in Gwangju, South Korea, is wrapping up a year as a visiting scholar at 91ֿ with hopes of creating an exchange program between the two schools based on their historic campus tragedies.  Before he leaves the Kent Campus at the end of June, Yeonmin Kim, Ph.D., ’13, hopes to have plans in place for a continued exchange of students between the two universities, to further the understanding and legacies of May 4, 1970, at 91ֿ and May 18, 1980, at Chonnam.  On May 4, 1970, the Ohio National Guard opened ...

 Connecting the Story of May 4 to Today’s HeadlinesThe May 4 Visitors Center (M4VC) is observing its 10th anniversary this spring. Following a “soft” opening in fall 2012, the center was officially dedicated as part of the May 4 Commemoration in 2013.The center was created through the efforts and passion of Laura Davis, BA ’73, MA ’76, PhD ’87, Professor Emerita of English, and Carole Barbato, BS ’71, MA ’75, PhD ’94, professor of communication studies, who both were 91ֿ students in spring 1970.
