Each Summer Institute combines academic coursework with applied learning experiences to provide participants with both technical knowledge and hands-on exposure to semiconductor manufacturing environments.

Participants complete two 91²Ö¿â courses aligned with the focus and academic level of their selected institute.

 

 

Which Institute Is Right for You?

91²Ö¿â offers two Summer Institutes designed for learners at different stages of their academic and technical development. The primary factor in choosing the right institute is whether you are looking for an introductory experience in semiconductor technology or are ready for more advanced fabrication and manufacturing coursework.

The exhibition "A Meeting of Cultures: Fashioning North Africa" will be the first of its kind in the world to focus specifically on contemporary fashion designers and influencers in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt. Scheduled to open at the 91²Ö¿â Museum in September 2025, this pathbreaking exhibition broadens the scope of scholarship on fashion history, which to date has focused primarily on American and European designers.

Bioethics and Health Humanities - Minor

The Bioethics and Health Humanities minor engages students with interests and talents in humanities fields who are also interested in various careers in health care. The minor gives students opportunities to explore bioethical questions, including understanding the challenges of various communities in accessing health, as well as health humanities, focusing on expressions of health care concerns in humanities fields.

Learning Outcomes

Program Learning Outcomes

Graduates of this program will be able to:

  1. Describe historical, literary and philosophical domains of bioethics and/or medical humanities scholarship.
  2. Analyze and evaluate complex texts relating to the ethical, social and cultural aspects of medicine through close reading and critical interpretation of argument, history and narrative.
  3. Explain how justice and injustice, inclusion and exclusion, shape both cultural values and health trajectory of diverse groups.
  4. Research and communicate their own arguments about bioethics and health care humanities.

Admissions for Bioethics and Health Humanities - Minor

Admission Requirements

Admission to a minor is open to students declared in a bachelor’s degree, the A.A.B. or A.A.S. degree or the A.T.S. degree (not Individualized Program major). Students declared only in the A.A. or A.S. degree or the A.T.S. degree in Individualized Program may not declare a minor. Students may not pursue a minor and a major in the same discipline.

Special topic courses in BSCI, ENG, HIST, PHIL or SOC may be accepted with the approval of the program coordinator. Students interested in health humanities are encouraged, but not required, to choose the following elective courses: AFS 33130, ENG 21003, GERO 40656, HIST 31077, HIST 31550, LGBT 20020, PHIL 41035, PHIL 41036, SOC 42560.

  • Minimum 6 credit hours in the minor must be upper-division coursework (30000 and 40000 level).
  • Minimum 6 credit hours in the minor must be outside of the course requirements for any major or other minor the student is pursuing.

Pre-Health - Undergraduate Certificate

The Pre-Health undergraduate certificate prepares students who previously graduated from college with a non-health-related degree for careers in health care. The program structure is flexible in order to provide courses necessary for admission to a variety of professional schools including medical, dental, pharmacy, physician assistant and veterinary.

Admissions for Pre-Health - Undergraduate Certificate

Admission Requirements

Admission to this certificate is selective. Applicants must meet the following criteria:
 
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 3.000 undergraduate GPA on a 4.000-point scale
  • Demonstrated proficiency through the equivalent of college algebra or higher

International Students: All international students must provide proof of proficiency of the English language (unless they meet specific exceptions) through the submission of an English language proficiency test score or by completing English language classes at 91²Ö¿â’s English as a Second Language Center before entering their program.
