French as a second language
With more than 200 million speakers on 5 continents, French is the foreign language that we learn most often after English. The study of French not only allows you to discover a rich cultural universe, especially in the fields of arts, science, and architecture but is also an asset for anyone considering a career abroad.
The Universit茅 Laval Language School offers non-francophone for 10 weeks (two 5-week sessions). Experienced teachers and enthusiastic facilitators offer you a teaching formula based on exchanges and participation in socio-cultural activities.
The Language School will give access to a free online placement test to all prospective students applying for FLS courses; this placement test score will determine the level of coursework in which students will be eligible to enroll. Courses are offered at six skill levels
Students can enroll in the FLS courses as a standalone summer program or in preparation for a fall semester or academic year at Universit茅 Laval.
