2026 Engagement Awards
The Community Engaged Research Institute is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2026 Engagement Award: Dr. Lauren Kinsman-Costello of the Department of Biological Sciences, Dr. Patrick Bitterman of the Department of Geography, and Community Investigator Scott Lenhart of Boardman Local School District for their proposal, "Building Local Community Capacity for Water Science and Management in Northeast Ohio", Drs. Elias Nader, Starr Solomon, and Christopher Dum of the Department of Sociology and Criminology, Dr. Elaine Hsiao of the School of Peace and Conflict Studies, and Community Investigator Leigh Anderson of the Cleveland Police Accountability Team for their proposal, "Cleveland Division of Police and Stabilizing Trust in the Community", and Director Allison Lukacsy-Love of the Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative, Dr. Jennifer Mapes of the Department of Geography, and Community Investigator Mariveth Feke of the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority for their proposal, "Analyzing Spatial and Social Mobility Network Impacts of Cleveland Metropolitan School District Closure".
