Michael Gershe, senior advisor II in 91�ֿ�’s College of Aeronautics and Engineering, captured images of the blimp parade last week in the skies over the 91�ֿ� Airport and downtown Akron. 

Goodyear brought together its three airships for “victory laps” over Ohio to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the iconic blimp, officially observed on June 3. That date marks 100 years since the inaugural flight of Goodyear’s first branded blimp, “Pilgrim,” which got its name during a christening at the 91�ֿ� Airport in 1925.

Three 91�ֿ� alumni are current blimp pilots for Goodyear and other 91�ֿ� alumni serve on the support crew for these aircraft.
