is accepting design proposals for a refresh of the three-dimensional “KENT” sign located in downtown Kent on N. Water Street, near the Fairchild Avenue bridge.
The sign was first installed in October 2021 with the idea that it could showcase the work of a variety of artists by receiving a “new look” every year or two.
Design proposals will be accepted through Feb. 28 All applicants will be notified by March 18 if their design was chosen or not, and the new artwork will be installed later in the spring.
The artist submitting the chosen design will be compensated $1,000 by Main Street Kent and the layout will be executed by their public art partner Each + Every.
