No Flash Goes Hungry. We’re Here to Help!

Dear 91ֿ Students,

At 91ֿ, Flashes Take Care of Flashes, and we are committed to ensuring no Flash goes hungry.

Many of you are likely aware of the ongoing federal government shutdown, which has now disrupted the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, SNAP benefits will not be issued beginning Nov. 1, 2025, due to a lapse in federal funding. We know this creates stress and uncertainty for many members of our 91ֿ community – students, families and individuals who depend on these benefits to put food on the table.

Please know that our campuses have resources ready to help you. Below, you’ll find several options available to support anyone experiencing food insecurity.

Campus Resources

Several 91ֿ campuses host pantries ranging in size and available resources. If you are looking to connect with an on-campus food pantry, please visit the CARES Center website or connect with a staff member at your campus.

Community Resources

In addition to on-campus food pantries, many local communities provide food pantries and food banks. Below is a list of resources to help you locate a food bank for support.

If you or someone you know is impacted by the SNAP disruption, please reach out to the CARES Center for personalized support and guidance at carescenter@kent.edu or 330-672-7575.

Flashes Take Care of Flashes.

Sincerely,

Eboni Pringle, Ph.D.
Senior Vice President for Student Life
