Staying up late and braving the chilly overnight temperatures, Michael Gershe, senior advisor II in 91ֿ's College of Aeronautics and Engineering took photos of the "Blood Moon" lunar eclipse that occurred from about 1 a.m. - 3:30 a.m. on March 14. Join colleagues, students and the community for the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 29 in the Kent Student Center Ballroom. This year's program is Keeping Joy, Faith, and “The Dream” Alive in Uncertain Times and honors and reflects on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy through dialogue centered on resilience, faith, justice, and collective well-being. This event is free, but a ticket is required.
You are invited to attend the 8th Annual 2026 Education Elevated (e2) Conference on Friday, Feb. 27, from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. This free conference brings together KSU faculty and staff to share knowledge, skills, and teaching strategies that elevate student learning through the thoughtful use of technology in service of effective teaching. This year’s theme, Human-Centered Education: Accessibility, AI, and Innovative Instruction, focuses on creativity, evidence-based design, responsible AI use, and centering access to support meaningful learning experiences.
The Division of People, Culture and Belonging is hosting two discussions on Intellectual Diversity as outlined in Ohio Senate Bill 1. These conversations are designed to explore our collective understanding of Intellectual Diversity among faculty and staff. Our panelists will engage participants in thoughtful reflections about fostering Intellectual Diversity. All are welcome to attend and be part of the conversation. Both sessions will be held virtually via Zoom.
Snow Day returns to downtown Kent with winter fun for all ages on Jan. 24 from noon - 6 p.m. This annual community event features ice sculptures, live entertainment, family-friendly activities, and special offerings from local businesses. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy the season, connect with the community, and celebrate winter in downtown Kent.
