Combat Robotics Team

On November 12th, 2022, the 91²Ö¿â Combat Robotics Team placed 3rd at a Norwalk Havoc Robotics League (NHRL) competition, qualifying for the 2022 Championships in December 2023. The competition, held in Norwalk, Connecticut, is the 6th and final qualifying event of the 2022 season including four different weight classes and over 100 bots. FIRST Robotics Competition, February 4th

On Saturday, February 4th, 22 teams of students in grades 7-12 gathered at the 91²Ö¿â Student Center for a FIRST Tech Challenge event, hosted by FIRST Robotics and the College of Aeronautics and Engineering. As part of a FIRST Tech Challenge team, participants design, build, and operate a robot to complete specific tasks depending on the competition year. Gus Holman knows a thing or two about mushrooms. First, he knows that morel mushrooms are prized finds by those who hunt and gather them. Secondly, he knows that these mushrooms are expensive for others to purchase. And, he knows that morels are not easy to grow outside of their natural environment. Alicia Costello is making the rounds of Northeast Ohio. As an upperclassman who was born in the Sandy Valley area, she now resides in Canton, and commutes to the 91²Ö¿â Salem and Stark campuses regularly to attend class. On January 20th, the National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA) announced that 91²Ö¿â was among 30 flight schools across the country receiving an invitation to the 2023 National Safety and Flight Evaluation Conference (SAFECON) hosted in Oshkosh, Wisconsin in May.  Prior to this announcement, the team attended the NIFA SAFECON in October.
