Loren Hahn
Biography
Dr. Hahn joined the faculty at 91²Ö¿â in 2026. Prior to that, he was a National Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow at the Air Force Research Laboratory, where he developed mid-infrared diagnostics for quantitative two-dimensional imaging of combustion-relevant flowfields. He received his Ph.D. in Fluid Mechanics from the University of Notre Dame, where he studied the structure, dynamics, and control of shock trains in confined supersonic flows.
Dr. Hahn's research focuses on the fundamental physics of unsteady, compressible, and reacting flows. His work examines shock dynamics, mechanisms for passive and active flow control, and methods for shock-combustion coupling. His research combines advanced diagnostics, computation, and modeling to uncover and control the physics governing high-speed flows.
