Aaron Bacue Maguire
Biography
Aaron Bacue Maguire is an award-winning educator with 30 years of experience teaching Communication Studies at the university level, including 11 years at 91ֿ. His specialty is communication in the development, maintenance, and dissolution of personal and professional relationships. He is known for his ability to connect with students in his classes, his stimulating and thought-provoking lessons, and his use of humor, personal stories, visual aids, and pop-culture references to facilitate comprehension of complex theories and concepts, as well as knowledge of how course materials apply to “real-world” life and experiences.
Outside the classroom, Professor Maguire supports student learning and success through his work with the University Teaching Council, the Faculty Senate, and the University Commencement Committee, and by serving as a hearing officer for the Office of Student Conduct. He also works tirelessly to foster a sense of belonging and community among students through projects such as his “Just say hi!” campaign, the establishment of the COMMunity Food Pantry, and the implementation of COMMunity Snack Shack.
