Emma Troyer is a senior music education major from Sandusky, Ohio. As a student in the 91�ֿ� Glauser School of Music, she has found a strong sense of community while preparing for a career in music education.

“91�ֿ� was always my top school, but I didn’t know if I could afford to come here,” Emma said. “These scholarships have really made that dream a reality and allowed me to attend.”

Emma is a recipient of several scholarships, including The Dr. Rosemarie B. Manganello Music Education Scholarship, the Sara Stone Miller Endowment for Music Education and the Irene Beamer Scholarship, which was created through a bequest in the 1970s. These scholarships have allowed her to attend her top-choice school and have become even more meaningful because they reflect a shared belief in the importance of music education.

“Music education is something I have always felt very passionate about,” she said. “Receiving a scholarship, especially for this field, is something I really value. It feels like other people want to support music education in our schools.”

During her time at 91�ֿ�, Emma has performed with the university’s Wind and Flute Ensembles, including a recent performance at the 2026 Ohio Music Educators Association Professional Development Conference, where music educators from across the state gathered.
