As the world prepares for the 25th commemoration of the terrorist attacks on the United States on Sept. 11, 2001, our 91²Ö¿â community will be recognizing this day during a special event on Sept. 10. The College of Aeronautics and Engineering will include a commemoration as part of its fifth annual Pilot Pinning Ceremony at the 91²Ö¿â Airport (1G3).
The Pilot Pinning Ceremony is one of the college’s most meaningful traditions because it places 91²Ö¿â alumni at the center of recognizing the next generation of professional pilots. Held each September, the ceremony celebrates students who have earned their first major aviation milestone — their private pilot certificate or completion of their first flight course at 91²Ö¿â — and recognizes certified flight instructors with a second set of wings to honor their transition from student to mentor. The ceremony connects students directly with alumni who have built successful careers throughout the aviation industry.
